After many conversations with our core group of organizers and volunteers, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel Still River Music Festival 2021. The three main reasons for canceling are;
1. Personal liability exposure. After talking with our insurance agent and the underwriting gods, we would have to sign a waiver alleviating the insurance company of any covid related issues, ultimately leaving the organizers vulnerable to personal loss and potential law suits. We would be required to put specific covid protocols in place, then make sure every attendee followed the protocols. (We know that the majority would follow the protocols, and we appreciate you! )
2. Our core group of organizers and volunteers that wish to get vaccinated, are not all able to get vaccinated prior to the festival. Several have not been able to get vaccine appointments and others don’t have their first appointments until the end of May.
3. If the positivity rate continues to fluctuate, so could the gathering restrictions. (There are typically 60-70 volunteers, venders, musicians and organizers, needed on site to produce and run the festival.) We ARE coming back in 2022! We look forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces dancing in the grass then! Until then, stay safe, stay healthy, and please continue to support our local music scene.
